World Migratory Bird Day 2026 Poster
Celebrate migratory birds and community science with the official World Migratory Bird Day 2026 poster. The front features original embroidery artwork by Brazilian artist Luísa Lacerda, while the back highlights how community science helps protect birds worldwide.
The 2026 theme, “Every Bird Counts – Your Observations Matter!”, emphasizes the importance of public participation in bird conservation. From backyard counts to international surveys, community science provides critical data on migration, populations, habitat use, and threats to birds — helping guide conservation action across flyways.
The 2026 campaign features migratory species from the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia, selected in collaboration with international partners including the Convention on Migratory Species, African Eursian Waterbird Agreement, and the East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership. Featured birds include the Cinnamon Teal, Merlin, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Barn Swallow, American Oystercatcher, Spoon-billed Sandpiper, and Abdim’s Stork.
